This Mission is Redacted

A submission for the Redacted Materials jam, built for play on Tenkiwi (+ maybe eventual print-and-play?)

Introduction

A no-prep storytelling game for one or more players (if playing solo, you can use "Extra Players" to play multiple characters). 

"This Mission is Redacted" features the External Containment Bureau with new prompt-driven, GM-less gameplay. The ECB is a shadowy government agency that protects the public against unnatural phenomenon. Players will work together to "solve" a mystery and cover up the unnatural threat that caused it. Can your team of agents clean up this threat without leaving any loose ends?

Gameplay

Written Playthrough

Gameplay is centered around scenes that introduce either clues or complications, with several prompts per scene and a wordbank with characters, locations, and events to help players build out a story as they go. 

When everyone is ready, they will make a theory and move to closing out complications that arose during the investigation and containing / obfuscating the threat. The theory's accuracy is determined by random chance, but weighted by the number of clues gathered, so the story is never 100% set in stone. 

Throughout the game, the team's position will change from safe to risky and the stakes in the prompts will change accordingly. 

Note - this game is still under development. I plan to add more missions to play through and maybe a couple of prompts that present players with tradeoffs.
